As you may realize, we provide original music for film (including short film, student film, animation, etc.), television, documentary and commercial use. But, who are “we”?
Meet some of our hard-working composers
Composer, Songwriter, Vocalist and Multi-Instrumentalist
David Floyd writes music influenced by many genres. He has written, arranged, performed and produced all of his own work since he was able to sit in front of a piano. 2010 brought him the opportunity to score for an independent film. He has also composed original scores for two documentaries and two short films, one of which was shortlisted for the "2015 Spliced" and then at this year's "2016 Spliced", the short film for which he composed the original soundtrack received the "Best Drama" award. "Spliced" is an annual film and documentary awards ceremony held in Edinburgh Scotland which highlights up and coming talent in the film and television industry. With "Antarctic Media" his intention is to release albums of quality "mood" music which will provide young and aspiring film makers (independent, short and animation), as well as documentaries and commercials with a means of enhancing their visual medium.
Born in Somerset West South Africa, a mere stone's throw from Cape Town, David attended "The Studio" by enrolling in their sound engineering course, and worked as a music compiler and sound engineer at an independent radio station. He has also taught English in China as well as composed original children's songs as a means of introducing the language to youngsters.
